Dubsado: The #1 Product That Has Changed Our Coaching Business

2/16/2021

We replaced 6 systems
and saved over $2500
by switching to Dubsado.

As a self-professed tech junky, I am a sucker for a good free trial for any product that promises to help increase productivity in my life and business. To that point, I racked up a whopping 9 systems and software products I was using in my business. In an attempt to set up automation, I had created a disjointed cluster of products that lead to inefficiency and the subscription fees were piling up. As our business hit a new stride of serving more clients than ever and finally building a much-needed support team, I realized that my attempt at being innovative with new technology was not so efficient after all. Most systems didn’t integrate with one another, and this became problematic. Some we used for a while, but it was not sustainable in our business operations, and many were just too complicated for the size of our small agency.

The ultimate test was when we hired a virtual assistant and interns to help with our operations, and we realized that trying to train a team on all of the products we used felt like an impossible task. It was time to simplify. In a quest for simple solutions, I reached out to a consultant in my circle who specializes in systemizing your business.

After our discovery call, what was most impressive is that she literally sent a nicely branded proposal, contract and invoice in less than 60 seconds after our call. I was blown away as her efficiency, and I had to know the magic formula to her quick response to close the deal. Her proven and highly recommended system was a hidden gem of CRMs called Dubsado.

Top 3 Reasons Every Speaker & Coach Needs A Podcast

Podcasting came before Coaching in my journey... well, sort of.
I started out as a novice Radio Show Host and launched The Activation Hour Radio Show as a place of connectivity, curiosity and honestly as an act of obedience. I had a longing for media and a nudge to step out and create a space to hear, collect, and record the stories of people who shifted to entrepreneurship and who made radical moves based on their faith. I begin to interview faith based entrepreneurs, influencers, executives and leaders, and over the span of two years on air, one common thing happened in every interview. Every one my guests started their businesses and found their purpose in an awakening to run after their passions after experiencing a tremendous low point in their lives, a point of great transition.

This is what we call an "Activation Hour," the moment when you knew your life would never be the same. I had this same encounter or "Activation Hour" when interviewing my guest. As I sat in the interview chair as the host, I begin to transform to the coach. I found myself asking the deep reflective questions a coach would to better understand the journey of my clients and to prompt my listeners on the same path of their own "Activation Hour." And that's how the coach in me was born.

The brain of a creative moves a million miles a minute, and we need tools that can keep up. I'm a bit of a tech junky, but I realize in working with my clients that not everyone is savvy about the latest tools, and even the savvy ones are not fully using technology effectively to maximize organization and productivity. Regardless of technical ability, we all need a way to get ideas, follow up, and engaging content out quickly and effectively to our audience.

So, I created my list of Top 3 Easy Tools for Busy Creatives to Humanize Your Brand! This was a hard list as my phone is overflowing with apps, and I'm always testing out the latest to help me organize, create and be innovative. I personally vetted and reviewed these items through free trials (and several of them remain free after trial), and I compiled a list of my favorite tools. I want to start by highlighting product number one on my list.

The Courage to Celebrate and Dwell

5/30/2018

Today marks the one-year anniversary of me becoming a certified life coach and launching my business. I don’t make this statement with a tone of celebration but one of reflection as I look back on the many anniversaries and milestones that have passed me recently. I’ve come to the realization that I am not good at celebrating. I mean, I literally feel like a mother who has missed her kid’s first birthday because I either forget to acknowledge it, or I’m just too busy to enjoy it. The one-year anniversary of my nonprofit, my radio show, my 36th birthday, awards, and a long list of things that deserved for me to pause have passed me by because I have struggled to celebrate.

When you live life by a checklist, it will reduce your level of thinking into performance instead of purpose. This is what I know about myself- I am a performer who is striving daily to live on purpose. Whew… I said it. Being a performance driven person means that I often struggle with celebrations because accomplishments are viewed as things that I am “supposed” to do and nothing exceptional. See, when you shift from this type of modus operandi to being purpose driven, it turns your world upside down.

Your View Determines Your Vision

After three weeks at home recuperating from an accident, I am back on the road again! I am so accustomed to my weekly rotation of flights and training schedules, so it’s nice to travel again after a hiatus. This week is different because I am taking a road trip instead of flying. If you know me, you know I hate to drive! I mean I hate driving. I’ll take an airplane any day over a car. I am fascinated with airplanes for so many reasons. My rationale is that four hours in a car gets me to Savannah from Atlanta, but four hours on a plane gets me across the country!

The Killer Called Comparison: How Keeping Your Eyes On Others Kills The Dreams Inside of You

“Beware, dangerous scrolling up ahead.” That is what the disclaimer should read when logging into social media and should appear across the screen of our minds when we began to assess the lives of others. Before you read any further, please understand that this is no way is saying you should go on a social media cleanse or delete all of your accounts and dump your digital foot print. However, this is more to peek your awareness of what some, well many, including myself have done and do multiple times a day when trolling the timelines, news feeds and videos and snippets on social media. It calls, consumes and condemns, but you can cast it out. Yes, beware of the killer called comparison.
